Glenn P. Benz

Glenn Paul Benz, age 59, of Oshkosh, formerly of Poy Sippi, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh.

He was born August 16, 1964, in South Milwaukee, WI, the son of Harold and Celestine “Sally” Huber Benz. Glenn was a 1983 graduate of Elk Grove High School.

Glenn worked at The Last Sippi, in Poy Sippi, tending bar for his mother. He had a passion for helping others, and his personality lit up the room along with his contagious laugh. Glenn loved being outdoors and riding his motorcycle. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Seviero P. “Sam” Leone

Seviero Paul “Sam” Leone, age 79, of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin.

He was born January 3, 1945, in Lohrville, WI, the son of Sevierio and Elsie Boeck Leone. Sam was a 1963 graduate of Wautoma High School. On August 19, 1967, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ingraham at Faith United Methodist Church in Westfield.

Sam worked for Alliance Laundry in maintenance for over 40 years and was always of help to others. He enjoyed feeding the birds, rabbits and squirrels and in his younger days he liked deer hunting. Sam was a member of Berlin United Methodist Church.

Timothy P. “Timmy” Koch

Timothy Paul “Timmy” Koch, age 58, of Pine River, died peacefully at his home in the Township of Leon on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

He was born October 1, 1965, in Portage, WI, the son of Daniel and Phyllis Smith Koch. He was a 1984 graduate of Weyauwega High School and he went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1984 until 1990. On March 15, 2024, he was united in marriage to Becky Macijeski at their home.

In 1993, Tim started his career in the maintenance department at Waupaca Foundry, eventually retiring in January 2024, after nearly 31years of service. Timmy enjoyed many pastimes. He liked to fish, especially for walleye. He enjoyed being a part of Men’s League golf and loved to team up to go an extra round and beat his brother Rory. Tim was proud to be a two-time champ at the Weymont Run Country Club where he was also a member.

Diane P. Manske

Diane Phyllis Manske, age 85, of Pine River, died peacefully on July 12, 2024, at Preston Place in Redgranite.

She was born July 5, 1939, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Albert and Leila Hertensteiner Goehring. Diane was a 1957 graduate of Berlin High School. On August 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to Vernon A. Manske at the Borth E. U. B. Church.

Diane was employed at Ripon Good Cookie. She enjoyed wildlife and bird watching, gardening, camping, flowers, cooking, baking and watching the Packers. The Manskes made their home in the rural Pine River area and loved the country life.

Adeline F. Hart

Adeline Flavia Hart, age 94, formerly of Berlin, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Yorkshire Village in Hemet, CA.

She was born November 22, 1929, on the family farm in Pine River, WI, the daughter of Frank and Elsie Gehrke Frazier. Adeline was a 1947 graduate of Wild Rose High School. She loved high school and attending reunions and she did so as often as she could through 2017. On November 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Hart Sr. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Berlin. After a time apart, Bob and Adeline found love again and remarried in 1973. They enjoyed life and family together until his passing.

Adeline worked various jobs including Steele’s and the Whiting Hotel in Berlin and Rippin’ Good Cookie Factory in Ripon. The job she cherished most was her time as a dental assistant to Dr. William Hastreiter in Berlin. Up until the end, she loved noticing people's teeth and talking about her time working for a dentist. A high compliment was when Adeline would say to you, "You take care of those teeth!"

Gerald E. Lois

Gerald Edgar “Jake” Lois, age 88, of Wautoma, died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 10, 2024.

He was born May 10, 1936, in Burlington, WI, the son of Edward and Vivian Krueger Lois. Jake was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary High School in Burlington. He served his country in the US Army. On September 23, 1961, Jake was united in marriage to Beverly Jahns at St. John Lutheran Church in Burlington.

Jake was a member of the Jointers Local Union as a journeyman carpenter. His work contributed to numerous buildings such as the Milwaukee Performing Arts Center, the Federal building, multiple hospitals, such as Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee, St. Joseph and Waukesha Hospitals and many homes throughout Milwaukee and the surrounding areas. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite. After retirement, he had the time to invest in many hobbies. He enjoyed bike riding, reading, gardening and putting together many home projects.

Judith M. Hahn

Judith Mae Hahn, age 83, of Fremont-Orihula, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah.

She was born August 8, 1940, in Appleton, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Sophia Teske NaGreen. At that time the NaGreens were farming, and in the late 40s they sold the farm and got back into the hospitality business building the Club Terrace and the Log Inn. Around the mid-50s, they moved to Fremont where they resided and operated the Hotel in Weyauwega. Judy was a 1958 graduate of Weyauwega High School. On August 15, 1959, she was united in marriage to Clifford Hahn at Hope Church in Fremont.

Judy’s interests were dancing, bowling, snowmobiling, going to the casinos and puzzles. She especially loved getting away with Cliff in their houseboat. She enjoyed her free time, but her heart and soul was devoted to their business, Hahn-a-Lula Resort. Judy took great pride in owning and operating Hahns and was involved in every aspect of its duties. Cliff took pride in it and boasted that, “There would be no Hahn-a-Lula without Judy.”

Robert R. “Bob” Mattice Sr.

Robert Ronald “Bob” Mattice Sr., age 85, of Redgranite, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.

He was born October 24, 1938, at his grandparents’, the Davenport farm, on Highway 49 in the Township of Aurora by Davenport School, the son of Henry and Lorena Davenport Mattice. Bob was a 1956 graduate of Wautoma High School and attended an ASI Course for Business & Auto Repair through the VA. He served in the Army National Guard from 1956-1964. On September 8, 1962, he was united in marriage to Wanita Lehr at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn.

Bob was well known in the surrounding communities as a talented guitarist and lead vocalist for his band, Bob Mattice & the Rainmakers, for over 63 years. Prior to starting his own band, he played and sang for two other bands, Phaetons and Catalinas. When he wasn’t with the band, he stayed busy as owner-operator of Dahlke-Fraser Car Dealership in Poy Sippi. Not only did he have musical abilities, but Bob was a gifted painter, painting signs on semis, trucks, buildings, or anything he was asked to paint on.

John F. Luehrs

John Fredrick Luehrs, age 63, of Lohrville, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, July 1, 2024.

He was born April 14, 1961, in Winthrop, MN, the son of Donald and Julieann Caturia Luehrs. John attended Wautoma High School. On November 15, 1986, he was united in marriage to Ann Wemmer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite.

John delivered newspapers for Oshkosh Northwestern for 36 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite.
