Ralph De Ruyter, age 87, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at his home in Berlin, WI. Arrangements are pending at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin.

Shelby Y. Shohoney

Shelby Young Shohoney, age 58, of Green Lake, died peacefully at home on Friday, August 30, 2024.

She was born October 3, 1965, in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Joe and Judith Anderson Young. Shelby was a 1983 graduate of Darlington High School. On June 16, 1990, she was united in marriage to David Shohoney in Ripon.

Shelby was an office manager for an accounting firm. She loved taking trips to Florida with her boys and enjoyed her pets.

Clifford “Bud” Kalupa

Clifford “Bud” Kalupa, age 82, of Berlin, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

He was born October 18, 1941, in Berlin, WI, the son of Clifford and Lucille Piekarski Kalupa. Bud was a 1959 graduate of Berlin High School. On May 25, 1963, he was united in marriage to Frances Vis at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Berlin.

Bud worked for C.F. Kalupa, Inc. before becoming a co-owner under the new name of Four Way Construction of Wisconsin, Inc. He was a member of Knights of Columbus/Fr. Fiss Council, National Rifle Association, a lifetime member of WI Trapper’s Association and past member of Berlin Rotary. Throughout the years, he enjoyed bowling and was an avid outdoorsman, often hunting and fishing. Bud had an excellent sense of humor, always goofing around and making people smile and laugh. He was constantly teasing. Bud was an amazing, very kind and unselfish husband, dad and grandpa, and especially treasured the time he spent with his grandkids. Bud was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin.

Darleen F. Klemp

Darleen Fay Klemp, age 84, of Berlin, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton, WI.

She was born April 21, 1940, in Bottineau, ND, the daughter of Emil and Helga Byre Eman. Darleen was a 1958 graduate of Kramer High School and Bismark College in Bismark, ND. On February 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Rev. John A. Klemp at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flaxton, ND.

Darleen was baptized at Landa Lutheran Church in Landa, ND and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Kramer, ND. She lived and worked in many states – Flaxton, ND; Hardwick, MN; Wentworth, SD; Cadillac, MI; Rocklake, ND and Berlin. Darleen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin, WI.

Ervin C. Fay

“Dad, your daily question about where mom is, is finally answered.” Ervin Clemon Fay, age 102, of Omro, died peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Country Villa Assisted Living in Omro.

He was born January 20, 1922, in Racine, WI, the son of Clemon and Ellen Rehfeldt Fay. Erv was the oldest child in a family of 10 brothers and sisters. After being “loaned out” to his grandparents in Plainfield, WI, Erv grew up working on their farm. He was a 1940 graduate of Plainfield High School then attended Wautoma Technical School for mechanical training.

William J. "Jim" Morris

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we share the passing of Jim Morris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, professor, and friend, who left the earth on August 20, 2024, at the age of 81. His life was a tapestry woven with love, wisdom, mentoring, humor, and a deep connection to the forest land.

Jim was born in Duluth, MN, on October 1, 1942. Jim was known as a man of great intelligence and an even greater heart. As a devoted husband to his wife Lorraine for 61 years, their marriage was a true bond rooted in love, respect, and an incredible partnership. Together, they built a life that encompassed family, friends, travel, and the sharing of their home and acreage. A place where many learned about themselves, nature, and the warmth of Jim’s heart. Jim lived a full life of laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for human and forestry development.

David C. Lewis

David Calvin Lewis, age 75, of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

He was born December 12, 1948, in Berlin, WI, the son of Calvin and Dolores Mashak Lewis. David was a 1967 graduate of Princeton High School. He received a master’s degree from U.W. Madison. On August 21, 1971, he was united in marriage to Georgia Hunt at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Berlin.

David worked as a Managerial Accounting Officer for the City of Milwaukee. He adored spending time with his grandchildren. When David wasn’t with them, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the History Channel. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Milwaukee.
