Keith Alan Parsons Sr., age 80, of Berlin, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Patriot Place in Berlin.
He was born November 13, 1943, in Berlin, WI, the son of Melvin and Esther Mueller Parsons. Keith Sr. was a 1962 graduate of Princeton High School.
Keith worked as a coremaker at Berlin Foundry for 45 years. He was a member of the Old Timers Club and CB Radio Club. Keith loved “classic” country music, and stayed active by dancing, bowling and shooting pool. He enjoyed the outdoors when he hunted and fished, which also involved having a drink now and then. Another passion Keith had was working on demo cars and watching races at WIR in Kaukauna.
Lester Arnold Davey Jr., age 94, of Winneconne, died peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Eden Vista in Ripon.
He was born November 12, 1929, in Berlin, WI, the son of Lester Sr. and Erna Spiegelberg Davey. Lester attended Berlin schools. On June 16, 1953, he was united in marriage to Patricia Pike in Antigo, WI. Les served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951-1956.
George Henry Bowman Jr., age 67, of Redgranite, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin.
He was born November 8, 1956, in Chicopee, MA, the son of George Sr. and Helen Bokalitz Bowman. George was an all-around handyman. Everyone needed his help all the time and he would generously always be there to help! He took very good care of his family and friends. George worked on powder coating systems, did electrical work, drywalling, plus built and installed piers in Green Lake, just to name a few. He could do anything. He loved to “tinker” and do mechanical work, and on rare occasions, when he’d get a free moment, he enjoyed fishing. If you knew George, you were “blessed” with his unique humor! He was always telling jokes and would proclaim he was a poet but didn’t even know it.
Eleanor Highlander, age 89, of Weyauwega, died peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca.
She was born January 8, 1935, at home in Fremont, WI, the daughter of Paul and Eleanor Wideman Tews. Eleanor was a 1953 graduate of Weyauwega High School. She worked for an Aeronautics Company in Connecticut, Benson Corp. Mattress Factory in Weyauwega, Braasch’s Restaurant in Fremont, before becoming the owner of Fremont Café. Eleanor was known for her exceptional baking!
Rudy John Rudolf, age 76, of Neshkoro, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 20, 2024.
He was born November 18, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Ralph and Evelyn (Falkowski) Rudolf. Rudy was a 1965 graduate of Bay View High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. On February 5, 1972, he was united in marriage to Elaine Pestotnik at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He lived in Waterford, WI, for 36 years before moving to the Neshkoro area.
Rudy was a union laborer for over 30 years, retiring from Plennes Construction in 2009. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and was a member of Tichigan Lions Club in Waterford and the American Legion. He attended St. James Catholic Church in Neshkoro.
Donald Vance Rosner, age 94, of Berlin, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
He was born July 6, 1929, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Albert and Constance Erdman Rosner. Don was a 1946 graduate of Berlin High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. On April 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Barbara Weber at Grace Lutheran Church in Port Edwards, WI.
Don had an old-fashioned boyhood and Depression Era upbringing of fix it and save and reuse. He lived on that same farm for 91 years! He was a dairy farmer and learned to repair, remodel and build. He used those skills while serving in the Army. Don later built several pieces of machinery he used in his nursery and the Christmas Tree Farm business which he developed in 1959.
Arlene L. Gade, age 97, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Edenbrook in Oshkosh.
She was born July 25, 1925, in the Township of Nepeuskun, the daughter of Walter and Frieda Krueger Neitzke. Arlene changed schools every year for eight years, with Immanuel Lutheran School in Auroraville being the last one. On October 8, 1944, she was united in marriage to Arthur Gade at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville.
William Ferguson Walker died at home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Bill was the youngest of four siblings and was born on May 10, 1950, in Berlin, WI. He was a graduate of the University of Madison, WI, where he received a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. He was a practicing pharmacist for almost thirty years. He also pursued a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at UW-Stout. Bill always had a passion for learning and could often be found at home with a book in one hand and a yellow notepad taking copious notes with the other.
Dennis Laverne Kray, age 67, of the Township of Berlin, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
He was born October 19, 1955, in Elgin, IL, the son of Laverne and Wanda Sieroslawski Kray. Dennis was a 1973 graduate of Hampshire High School in IL. On May 2, 1981, he was united in marriage to Lori Foell in Mason City, IA.
Dennis was a machinist for TW Designs in Montello for many years. He also worked for David White and Generac in Berlin. Dennis was a member of Faith Community Church. He enjoyed being outdoors with his dog either gardening or working with his horses, especially “Daisy”, his favorite.
Nicole Marie Schumacher, age 35, of Tomball, TX, formerly of Green Lake, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 12, 2023, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
She was born February 17, 1988, in Neenah, WI, the daughter of Mark and Bonnie Patchett Schumacher. Nicole was baptized as a child of God and was also confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin. She was a 2006 graduate of Berlin High School.
Nicole was a diligent and dedicated employee. As a result of her professional career with various companies over the years, she traveled extensively throughout the United States and was able to see parts of Canada and South Africa. Her drive and determination to succeed propelled her forward in every opportunity she took on.
Rhonda Kay Boening, age 70, of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Patriot Place.
She was born July 31, 1952, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Russell and Sarah Varner Webster. On August 27, 1977, she was united in marriage to Rickey Boening in Danville, IL.
Rhonda worked as a cashier at Kmart in Ripon and a janitor for Fox River Industries in Berlin and Green Lake County Human Services. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, especially going to her grandson’s sporting events and enjoyed having her son cook her steaks. Most recently she liked playing solitaire and other computer games while listening to her scanner.
