Kathryn M. Eastberg
God has gained another angel, Kathryn Marie Eastberg, age 79, of Berlin, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, March 3, 2023.
She was born June 12, 1943, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Rupert and Elvera Beattie Leuch. Kathryn was a 1961 graduate of Rufus High School. On May 22, 1965, she was united in marriage to Anthony Eastberg.
Kathryn worked for Columbia Hospital as a switchboard operator for many years, and as Activity director at a Milwaukee nursing home. She found great enjoyment in watching the birds and wildlife around her home and reading. Kathryn was known to her family for crocheting and making blankets and rugs for her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, Tony, also cared for ten foster children over the years. Kathryn was a member of Light of Christ Lutheran Fellowship in Berlin.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeff (Kathy), Glenn and Timothy (Kim) Eastberg; seven grandchildren, Tabitha (Tony) Featherston, Natasha (David) Rathkamp, Joshua (Samantha), Phelan (Jordan), Zachary, Ashlyn, and Kaitlyn Eastberg; five great-grandchildren, Thea and Becket Featherston and Joey, RaeLynn and RyLiegh Eastberg; one sister, Anna Stefanovsky; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, on October 29, 2018; parents; one brother, Edward “Eddie” (Sandy) Leuch; and a special friend, Harold Brunner.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Scott T. Piper officiating. Inurnment will be in Valhalla Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date.
