Anthony J. Eastberg
Anthony John “Tony” Eastberg, age 76, of Berlin, died peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018, at home.
He was born April 20, 1942, in Milwaukee, the son of Norman and Thelma Lembcke Eastberg. Tony was a 1960 graduate of Pius High School. On May 22, 1965, he was united in marriage to Kathryn M. Leuch. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in the early 1960’s. He was aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.
Tony moved to Berlin in 1988 from Milwaukee. He worked at Aqua Chem as a draftsman for several years. He was employed at Senior Engineering in Berlin until they closed, and then worked at Fleet Farm in Oshkosh. Tony enjoyed fishing, tied his own flies, and was a member of Trout Unlimited. He also liked to hunt and commune with nature.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; 3 sons, Jeff (Kathy), Glenn, and Timothy (Kim) Eastberg; 7 grandchildren, Joshua (Samantha), Tabitha (Tony) Featherston, Phelan, Zachary, Natasha, Ashlyn, and Kaitlyn; one great-granddaughter, Thea; his sister, Joan Heindl; and nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with funeral services at 11:00 a.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, Rev. Scott Piper officiating. Military Honors will be held at the funeral chapel following the service. Inurnment will be in Valhalla Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date.
