Carlos R. Bolyard
Carlos Ross Bolyard, age 87, of Berlin, went to his home in heaven on Thursday, April 9, 2020.
He was born May 2, 1932, in Tunnelton, W.Va., the son of Homer and Ollie Watkins Bolyard. Carlos served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict for nine years, receiving the Good Conduct and National Defense Service medals. On September 14, 1952, he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Day at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longview, WA.
After his retirement from Eaton Corporation, Carlos and Jean moved to Berlin. He was privileged to be a part of the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2014; an experience he treasured. Carlos was a faithful and active member of Faith Community Church in Berlin. He will be remembered for his love of God and family, and for serving on the Board, ushering, and greeting worshipers for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Donna Jean; granddaughter, Stefanie (Andy) Neely; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Ava and William Neely; daughter-in-law, Debra (John) Hinton; and sister, Mary Powell. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan R. Bolyard; three brothers; and four sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Faith Community Church in Berlin. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Ben Reiser officiating. Military honors will be performed at the church immediately following the services. Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Alvin, WI.
