Ronald A. Harke

Ronald Allen Harke, age 73, of Berlin, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Juliette Manor in Berlin.

He was born January 21, 1951, at Berlin Memorial Hospital, the son of Arnold and Ella Meyer Harke. Ron was a 1969 graduate of Berlin High School and attended Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Ron was owner/operator of Hark Com in Berlin for 35 years. He was an FCC Licensed Radio Engineer and member of MSOE Alumni Association and CET (Certified Electronic Tech). Ron actively gave back to his community as a former City of Berlin Council member, past Commadore of Berlin Boat Club, former Berlin Chamber of Commerce Board member and past President of MSS “Motorola Services Stations” WI Chapter. He also enjoyed working with the ABC Group (Achieving a Better Community) and playing keyboard for Big Boomba’s Boppers for many years. Ron followed Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin on their Facebook streaming.

He is survived by his brother, David (Georgann) Harke; sister, Rebecca Guden; nieces and nephews, Gretchen Harke, Dawn (Dan) Dolbeau, Linda (Mike) Pickett, Kristina (Nick) Hendricks, Chris (Tonya) Harke and Aaron (Stacey) Guden; other relatives; and many friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Joel Guden; and sister-in-law, Karen Harke.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Berlin Boat Club and ABC Group. The family wishes to thank the staff at Juliette Manor for the care that Ron received.
