Wade A. Gallert

Wade Allen Gallert, age 55, of Berlin, formerly of Watertown, WI, was born April 3, 1969, in Oconomowoc, WI, to RosaLee Barnard and Carl Gallert.

Wade was a simple man. He worked hard and loved to play even harder, spending his time fishing, cracking a cold Budweiser, and hanging with the best of them, making memories that will be told for the rest of our days. As he grew older, he enjoyed time spent in the solitude of his home that he shared with his niece, Heather, in Berlin. But it was his sense of humor that truly set him apart. Even in the face of illness, he’d weave jokes into conversations. His timing was impeccable, and his laugh was infectious. Whether it was a family gathering, a hospital room or bedroom at home in his last days, his humor remained unyielding.

February 2024, Wade’s world was forever changed as he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. His battle with cancer in the recent months showed his courage in facing life’s challenges head on. He accepted the cards he was dealt and made the best of it, never concerned about himself, but always of those he would be leaving behind.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Wade lost his battle to cancer. He passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his sister, Wanita, brother, Wayne, niece, Heather and her boyfriend, Westly, whom had the honor of establishing an incredible bond which brought Wade joy and a sense of camaraderie like no other. He will forever be missed, but may his memory live on in the stories we tell, the fishing trips we take and the moments we raise our glass in his honor.

Rest in peace, Uncle Wade. Your legacy of hard work, humor, love and loyalty will forever echo through our lives.

He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of resilience. Wade is survived by his son, Mavrick Sedbery; daughter, Desirae Rogers; grandchildren, Kaylee and Buddy; sister, Wanita Kirch; and brother, Wayne Gallert. His extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews and close friends who he held close and loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; brother, Joseph Stock; and sisters, Wanda Stock and Wava Wandersee.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Elk Lodge in Watertown, WI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin.
