Donald V. Rosner
Donald Vance Rosner, age 94, of Berlin, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
He was born July 6, 1929, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Albert and Constance Erdman Rosner. Don was a 1946 graduate of Berlin High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. On April 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Barbara Weber at Grace Lutheran Church in Port Edwards, WI.
Don had an old-fashioned boyhood and Depression Era upbringing of fix it and save and reuse. He lived on that same farm for 91 years! He was a dairy farmer and learned to repair, remodel and build. He used those skills while serving in the Army. Don later built several pieces of machinery he used in his nursery and the Christmas Tree Farm business which he developed in 1959. He loved to have conversations with his customers and enjoyed sharing long stories. He loved the outdoors and was a life-long hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Lisa Rosner; two sisters-in-law, Karen (DeLos) Faivre and Donna Weber; one brother-in-law, William (Janet) Weber; visitor friend, Jerry; hunting friend, Louis; and nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his son, Rex Peter Rosner; parents; and his phone friend, Jim.
Private family services will be held at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
