Lance August Voeltner, age 63, of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center-Oshkosh.
He was born August 4, 1961, in Berlin, WI, the son of David and Joyce Michels Voeltner. Lance was a 1980 graduate of Oshkosh West High School. He attended Capital University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, OH.
Lance worked for 25+ years as a manager for Kroger Co. in OH. Lance loved his family very much. He enjoyed spending time outdoors staying active by golfing, hunting and fishing, and his favorite canine companions were Labrador Retrievers.
Eileen Mary Boehlke, age 87, of Berlin, died peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Whispering Pines in Ripon.
She was born July 27, 1937, in Omro, WI, the daughter of Robert and Katherine Stertz Doughty. Eileen was a 1955 graduate of Omro High School. On October 11, 1958, she was united in marriage to Armin Boehlke at Grace Lutheran Church in Omro.
Many students and parishioners will remember Eileen as the secretary at St. John Lutheran School and church for many years. She enjoyed watching and listening to Polka music, gardening and cooking. Eileen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin.
William Albert “Bill” Carpenter, age 85, of Omro, died peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh.
He was born March 21, 1939, at home in the Township of Rushford, WI, the son of Alvin and Dorothy Bishop Carpenter. Bill attended Bell School in rural Omro and Berlin High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an Electronic Engine Control Technician from 1956-1959. On May 14, 1960, he was united in marriage to Susan Miller at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah.
Bill attended area technical colleges taking electronics classes. He sold insurance but dedicated his career as an office machine technician from 1960-2003, the last 20 years on commercial machines for Modern Business Machines. When Bill wasn’t busy fixing everyone’s copy machines, he enjoyed farming, camping, playing cards and traveling with Susan to 35 states, including both oceans. He volunteered as a 4-H leader and Sunday School teacher and was a member of Winneconne American Legion Post #364 and Grace English Lutheran Church.
Gerald Herbert “Jerry” Buttke, age 79, of Berlin, died peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Prairie Place Assisted Living in Ripon.
He was born February 3, 1946, in Berlin, WI, the son of Herbert and Regina Doro Buttke. Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Berlin High School and graduated from UW-Stout with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Education. On June 14, 1969, he was united in marriage to Sharon Lawler at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Berlin.
Many students will remember Jerry as the Industrial teacher at Berlin High School. He taught at the school for 10 years before working in sales and management at Alliant Energy for many years. He stayed active in both the Berlin and Omro communities, serving as Alderman for the City of Berlin for two terms and was on the Omro School Board.
Geraldine Joyce “Gerry” Jungenberg, age 93, of Redgranite, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
She was born March 20, 1931, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Hattie Erdman Matthias. Gerry was raised in the Redgranite area and was a 1948 graduate of Wild Rose High School. On May 20, 1950, she was united in marriage to Elwood A. “Mickey” Jungenberg at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn.
Gerry moved to Sheboygan after marrying Mickey and worked various positions at JC Penney, retiring after 20 years in 1989. She and Mickey moved back to the local Redgranite area in 1991, wintering in AZ from 1987-1994 and TX from 1994-2010. Gerry enjoyed reading, traveling with Mickey and especially family gatherings. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite.
