Robert A. Londowski

“We gonna have a funeral for the Buick?” “I don’t get dressed anymore. I just get up and put on my jogging bottoms. If I have to go somewhere and get dressed up, then I put on my overalls.”

“You know I’m 77. They call me Bob, Bobby, Bubba, Bob L. In fact, I label Bob L. on everything with a permanent black magic marker!” Robert Allen Londowski, age 77, of Berlin, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 31, 2023 with his family by his side. Bob L. was a dedicated husband, father, grandpa, neighbor, and friend. He would give the shirt off his back and would be willing to help anyone who needed it. He would also keep everyone accountable to return anything they would borrow from him.

Anthony R. Geier

Anthony Raymond “Tony” Geier, age 69, of Pine River, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

He was born September 1, 1953, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Harold and Dolores Jonen Geier. Tony was a 1971 graduate of North Division High School in Milwaukee. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science.

Ester Tijerina

Ester Tijerina, age 59, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in Berlin. She was born September 2, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Santos and Alvira Yanez Tijerina. Services will be held in her hometown of Immokalee, Florida. Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin is assisting the family with local arrangements.

Roy E. Chadwick

Roy Egbert Chadwick Jr., age 92, of Berlin, died peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Eden Meadows Rehab Suites and Green House in Oshkosh.

He was born October 5, 1930, at home in Canton, Georgia, the son of Roy and Mary Lou Barnes Chadwick. Roy was a 1947 graduate of Canton High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and also in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1973 in Inventory Management as an E6 Tech Sergeant. Roy was drafted into the Army at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC before being stationed in Verdun, France during the Korean Conflict. He returned home for two years and joined the Air Force, completing basic training in San Antonio, TX. From there he was stationed in Frances E. Warren AF Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dyess AF Base in Abilene, TX, Vandenberg AF Base in CA, the Azores Island, Lowrey AF Base in Denver, CO, Japan, Kansas, Tan Son Nhut AF Base in Vietnam and in Turkey.

Lucy J. Leach

Lucy Janze Leach, age 87, of Berlin, Wisconsin, died peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Juliette Manor in Berlin.

She was born January 28, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Norman and Dorothy Flower Janze. Lucy was a 1954 graduate of Green Lake High School and the National College of Education (now National Louis University). On June 22, 1959, she was united in marriage to E.C. “Pete” Leach, Jr., in Green Lake.

Alice M. Fay

Alice Magdalene Fay, age 97, of Omro, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 4, 2023.

She was born June 8, 1926, in Berlin, WI, to a family with five other sisters and two brothers. Alice was the daughter of a WWI veteran, Maximillian “Max” and Mary Makurat Piotrowski, who was arguably the best cook in Berlin. She was a 1944 graduate of Berlin High School.

While working at Berlin Glove, Alice began a letter writing campaign at the urging of a GI’s sister to Ervin Fay, a WWII army mechanic. On August 24, 1946, they were united in marriage at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Berlin. For the next 77 years they raised a beautiful family of eight children, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
