Joan M. Brisky

Joan M. Brisky, age 90 of Berlin, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Berlin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Auroraville, WI on August 6, 1921, the daughter of Walter and Louise Zietlow Rodensal. Joan was a 1939 graduate of Berlin High School. On September 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Florian William “Bill” Brisky. She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church and the ladies aid. For many years Joan and Florian owned and operated Brisky Heating and Air Conditioning. Joan enjoyed seeing to the needs of the business. Joan was a wonderful and loving mother and sister, and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by four children, Charles (Jill) Brisky, Sara (Larry) Chier, and Jon (Peggy) Brisky all of Berlin, and Georgia (Tom) Brooks of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren, Nathan and Gretchen Chier, Megan and Brian Brisky, Willie Brisky, and Bethany, Ben, and Alexa Brooks; three brothers, Richard Rodensal, Spencer (Joyce) Rodensal, and Bernard (Carolyn) Rodensal all of Berlin; two special sisters, Karene (Bob) Jezwinski and Robin (Russ) Henriksen both of Berlin; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Rodensal of Berlin and Frances Millonzi of Milwaukee; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Florian “Bill” on August 24, 1997; two brothers, William and Walter “Bud” Rodensal Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Virginia Rodensal and Gertrude Rodensal. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin, the Rev. Bryan G. Lundquist officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, and on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. P. Michael Shattuck and Patriot Place for their special care.
