Sandra M. "Sandi" Krynik
Sandra Mae “Sandi” Krynik, age 79, of Berlin, died peacefully on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Brown Wilcox in Berlin.
She was born October 10, 1941, in Racine, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Elsie Bayuk Krynik. Sandi was a graduate of Park High School in Racine and received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from UW-La Crosse. Sandi worked for Berlin Area School District for over 10 years as a physical education teacher before serving her country in the U.S Army/Army Reserve from 1980-1990. After the military, she returned to school and received a Master of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA.
Sandi’s first pastoral call was in Rhame, ND, then Goldfield, IA. She once again continued on with her schooling, receiving Chaplaincy education and was Chaplain at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, IA. For many years, Sandi served as a fill-in in the ministerial field in several communities. Sandi was a member of Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin.
She is survived by her special friend, Joby Zietlow; two nieces, Gayle (Randy) Roberts and Nancy (Tom) Schneider; one nephew, Paul Weinkauf; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. Sandi was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Donna (LeRoy) Weinkauf and Pat (Richard) Vyvyan.
At Sandi’s request, private funeral services for her family will be held at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating. Interment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Green Lake Area Animal Shelter and Berlin EMS.
