Robert M. Hoeft

Robert Matthew Hoeft, age 96, of Poy Sippi, died peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Patriot Place in Berlin, where he has resided the past several years.

Robert was born June 8, 1922 in the Township of Poy Sippi in Waushara County, the son of George and Bertha Lane Hoeft. On August 23, 1950, he was united in marriage to Doris E. Hintz in Reedsville. Together they operated A Centennial Farm near Borth for 28 years. He served as a sub letter carrier for Route 1, Berlin from 1975-1990, as a member of the Poy Sippi Town Board for over 20 years and was Town Chairman for 4 years. Robert served on the Waushara County Zoning Board of Adjustments, as a 4-H leader and was a member of the Registered Holstein Association. He lived his life loving his Lord and Savior. He attended and served in many roles at Borth Evangelical United Brethren Church and later was a member of Faith Community Church in Berlin. Robert always had an encouraging word for everyone he met.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (George) Oehrlein; son, Glenn (Diane) Hoeft; granddaughters, Karin (Joshua) Carl and Lisa Mueller; and great-grandchildren, David, Elizabeth, Daniel and Ezekiel Carl. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris on February 16, 2013; granddaughter, Diana Mueller; brothers, Donald, Lewis, Norman, Hubert, Raymond, Merlin and Kenneth Hoeft; sister, Luella Weller; and son-in-law, Dean Mueller.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Faith Community Church in Berlin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., Ben Reiser officiating. Interment will be in Poy Sippi Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorials may be directed to Faith Community Building Fund.
