LeRayne G. Beck
LeRayne G. Beck, age 87, died peacefully on July 4, 2016, under hospice care at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh. She was born August 5, 1928 in Berlin, WI, the daughter of Charles and Martha Arnold Domske. She spent her childhood in Redgranite, West Bloomfield and Berlin. On July 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Glenn Beck. They settled in Winneconne and moved to Menomonee Falls in 1956, living there until their retirement, when they moved to the Omro area. In recent years, LeRayne has resided at Evergreen in Oshkosh.
LeRayne was an excellent cook and baker, winning blue ribbons at the Wisconsin State Fair for her decadent apple dumplings with vanilla butter sauce and her famous lemon chiffon cake, which she often delivered to friends on their birthdays. Her recipes reflected her German heritage, as well as the abundance of fresh vegetables from Glenn’s garden. LeRayne was also an excellent seamstress, making clothes for herself and her daughters when they were young and sewing Rose’s wedding dress. In later years, LeRayne used her sewing skills to create beautiful quilts for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Pauer (Andrew Jobson) and Rose (Tom) Detmer; her grandchildren, Susan Pauer, Carolyn Detmer and James Pauer; step-grandson, Kevin Jobson; sister, Charlene Wesenberg; sisters-in-law, Ruth Kettlewell and Gloria Beck; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Jericho Pauer; brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Delores Domske; brothers-in-law, Raymond Wesenberg, Clifford Beck and Keith Kettlewell; sister-in-law, Julia Beck; and niece Debra Wesenberg.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Avenue in Omro, the Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church one hour prior to the service. LeRayne will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin.
