David M. “Mic” Suess Sr.
David Michael “Mic” Suess Sr., age 86, of Redgranite, died peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021, at his home.
He was born January 9, 1935, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of George and Margaret Heidl Suess. He was a 1953 graduate of Oshkosh High School. On June 13, 1997, he was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Belter at their home.
Mic has been an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan for many years. He enjoyed collecting beer steins and was an avid bass fisherman. Mic was a metal stamper for Thill Inc. and Basic American Metal Products, retiring in 1997. He and Barb enjoyed traveling to Alaska, out west, up north and to Jamaica. They even claim to have visited every waterfall north of Wautoma!
Mic is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Sandy Suess; two sons, David Jr. (Nikki) and Lawrence Suess; six grandchildren, Sean (Nicole), Mandy, Yolanda (Todd), Corrina, Brittany and Brandon; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Carolyn) Suess; sister, Deb (Bruce) Dumman; sister-in-law, Jean Suess; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Barb’s children, Tammy O’Kon (Bob), Becky (David) Olsen, Sherry (Mark) Schonscheck and Michael (Sarah) Kallas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Larry (Marilyn) Belter, Susan Miller, Paul (Connie) Belter and Steve (Amy) Belter. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Lee and Phil Suess.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Interment will be in Shead Island Cemetery in the Township of Aurora.
