John Selthofner
John Selthofner, age 79, of Poy Sippi, died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
He was born May 1, 1942, in Yugoslavia, the son of Josef and Teresa Nichter Selthofner. John served his country in the U.S. Army. On October 23, 1991, he was united in marriage to Lonnie Bargenquast in Wautoma. John worked for Dopp Dairy. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, farming and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Lonnie; children, Jay (Narin) Selthofner, Josh (Vanessa) Selthofner, Jessica (Travis) Messa, Brian Bargenquast (Marianne Pegel) and Tina Osheim; twelve grandchildren, Lily, Willough, Leif, Madysun, Sterlyng, Jaylynn, Trent, Brittany (Jason), Tony, Brandon (Brittany), Jacob and Robert; five great-grandchildren, Paisley, Adalena, MaryRuth, Kylee and Gabriel; sister, Kathy (Herb) Treu; sister-in-law, Mary Selthofner; mother-in-law, Gerry Bargenquast; and many nieces, nephews and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Selthofner; and stepson, Jerry Unke.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi. Military honors will be performed by Johannes-Wendt AMVETS Post #13 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in Pine River Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established.
