Irene I. Schwartz
Irene Ingrid Schwartz, age 78, of Poy Sippi, died peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2019, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton.
She was born June 19, 1940, in Kaunas, Lithuania, the daughter of Mauricijus and Virena Lukshat Laucevicius. On May 8, 1950, when Irene was 10 years old, her family came to the U.S. She graduated from Washington High School in East Chicago, IN, and she worked as a certified practical nurse with premature babies for over 10 years at Holy Cross Hospital. On November 8, 1969, she was united in marriage to Augustin Schwartz in Montello. She and her husband moved to Poy Sippi in 1970, where they farmed for many years. Irene was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Poy Sippi.
She is survived by her husband, Augustin; son, John (Joanna) Schwartz; daughter, Karen Schwartz; grandchildren, Sebastian Nowicki and Dominique Schwartz; sister, Helen (Sam) Wood; brother, Louis Laucevicius; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin.
