Richard V. Schram

Richard Victor Schram, age 79, of the Township of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1941, in Berlin, the son of Victor and Mildred Schroeder Schram. Rich went to Berlin schools, and on May 5, 1962, was united in marriage to Charlotte Lochner at Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin.

Rich spent his entire life as a farmer on the Schram family farm south of Berlin. He witnessed many changes in the farming community over several decades of crop farming. Rich and his family enjoyed camping here in the summer months and down south during the winter, snowmobiling, riding his electric bicycle, going to tractor pulls and Friday night fish fries. He was a longtime member of Grace English Lutheran Church, where his mother was among the last surviving charter members. He was currently a member of Light of Christ Lutheran Fellowship and a member of Berlin River Riders Snowmobile Club.

Rich is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Charlotte; his children, Deb Schram, Shari Zuelke, Krista Wilson and Ken Schram; grandchildren, Jay (Emily) Wilson, Rhonda Wilson (friend, Sean Ruland) and Evan Ewald; great-grandchildren, Cora, Evelyn and Levi; sister, Diane Timm; sister-in-law, Candy Schram; brother-in-law, Mark Lochner; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janis (Al) Klubertanz, Jaci (Gary) Boening and Lynn (Peter) Linsmayer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ed and Dennis; son-in-law, Paul Wilson; daughter-in-law, Heather Schram; and brother-in-law, Don Timm.

Private services will be held with Rev. Scott T. Piper officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin.
