Bernice F. Sanders
Bernice Frances Sanders, age 82, of Ripon, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Ripon Medical Center.
She was born April 1, 1936, in Madison, the daughter of Michael and Martha Zeitlow Hoffman. On Nov. 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Sanders at First Methodist Church in Berlin.
Bernice worked at Sand Knit, waitressed at Hotel Whiting, and various other restaurants, and was a cashier at Kwik Trip for 13 years. Bernice loved polka dancing and spent many hours crocheting pot holders.
She is survived by her son, James Sanders; sisters, Verna Paul and Mildred Draeger; and many nieces and nephews, including Judy (Keith) Dickerson, Wayne Draeger, David Draeger and Betty (Greg) Suwanski. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert on Sept. 1, 2007; son, Robert Jr. on May 21, 2011; brothers, Gilbert, Howard, Clarence, Lester, Harley, Merlin, Elmer & Arnold; and sister, Evelyn Pahl.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Funeral services will be held at Barbola Funeral Chapel at 3:00 p.m., Rev. Scott T. Piper officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
