Donna L. Rew

Donna Lee Rew, age 84, of Poy Sippi, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

She was born May 7, 1938, in Poy Sippi, WI, the daughter of Melvin and Erma Jeffers Jorgensen. Donna was a 1956 graduate of Berlin High School. On February 13, 1965, she was united in marriage to Donovan Rew at the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Donna worked as a laboratory technician for six years at Blooming Lake Clinic in Minneapolis, MN, and for 12 years at Milford Memorial Hospital in Delaware. She was a dedicated, faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi where she was very involved serving on many committees. Donna dedicated many years as the coordinator of the Poy Sippi Food Pantry. She enjoyed fishing, volunteering, playing Rook with her family and Facebook, where her witty posts brought laughter to others. Her kindness and generosity will long be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Don; two sons, David (Colleen) Rew and Paul Rew; four grandchildren, Chris Rew, Kayla (Jeremy) King, Kearstin (Warren) Hess and Hunter Rew; brother, Richard (Delores) Jorgensen; brother-in-law, Don Mattox; sister-in-law, Marcella Jorgensen; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Rew; parents; brother, Raymond Jorgensen; and sister, Eileen Mattox.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 14, at 11:00 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 13, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi. Inurnment will be in Poy Sippi Cemetery.
