Mary B. Rector

Mary B. Rector, age 102, of Ripon, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.

She was born September 17, 1912 in the Town of Seneca, the daughter of John and Rosie Tetzlaff Smoody. Mary attended FDL Vocational School and Famous Artists School in New York, having instructors such as Norman Rockwell, Austin Briggs and John Whitney. On June 13, 1945, she was united in marriage to Sam Rector.

Mary worked for ADMANCO in Ripon for 32 years. She was an artist, a homemaker and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, in Ripon and Nepeuskun Anti-Horsethieves Association.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marge Smoody; nieces and nephews; and her companion, Henry Behrendt. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, in 1992; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, the Rev. Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
