Lloyd E. Lubbert

Lloyd Edward Lubbert, age 88, of Berlin, died peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2018, at Juliette Manor in Berlin.

He was born April 30, 1930, in Swanville, MN, the son of Edward and Gertrude Rutz Lubbert. Lloyd was a graduate of Little Falls High School and served his country in the National Guard. On September 1, 1951, he married the love of his life, June Abel in Little Falls, MN.

Lloyd worked for JC Penney Co. for over 38 years, managing the store in Berlin for many years. He was a member of Grace English Lutheran Church, past president of Berlin Rotary Club and was honored to be a Paul Harris Fellow.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, June; two sons, Guy Lubbert and Brian (“Pixy”) Lubbert; daughter, Julie Owens; grandchildren, Annie (Eric) Miller and Brittany (Tyler) Tennie; and great-grandchildren, Colin and Colten Miller and Vada June Tennie. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents.

Please note the change for the service; Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin, Rev. Scott T. Piper officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 16, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin. Memorials may be directed to Berlin Food Pantry or Grace English Lutheran Church.
