Austin M. Johnson

Austin Michael Johnson was granted his angel wings on May 7, 2017. His tragic and unexpected passing occurred at his home in Berlin in the early morning hours.

He was born on May 7, 2004 in Berlin, the son of Audrey Johnson and Bradley Francisco. Austin attended Berlin schools and was currently in the 7th grade at Berlin Middle School. He also attended Eureka United Methodist Church, was active in their youth group and worked in the church food pantry.

Austin was intelligent, friendly and respectful to others. He enjoyed Pokémon, video games and especially art. Austin loved music, sleeping late and was a voracious reader. He was very protective of his younger sisters and was exceptional at helping his mom & his sisters manage the family’s activities.

Although barely a teenager, Austin was knowledgeable and a capable communicator. Once he warmed up to someone, he could chat all day, and his gentle smile could easily melt hearts. With Austin’s passing we are reminded that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his smile, he will forever remain in our hearts.

Austin is survived by his loving mother, Audrey; his father, Bradley (significant other, Sarah); his sisters, Rachel, Gwen and Melanie; and his brother, Anthony. He is further survived by grandparents; extended relatives; and many school and neighborhood friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church, Pastor Peter W. Berg officiating. Private interment will take place in Borth Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Austin M. Johnson Memorial Fund, PO Box 104, Berlin, WI 54923.
