Alvin S. "Al" Huber
Alvin Sebastian “Alskie” Huber, age 93, of Pine River, died peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at home in the Township of Leon.
He was born April 22, 1929, in Strasburg, North Dakota, the son of Louie and Anna Dosch Huber. On February 4, 1947, he was united in marriage to Josephine Buechler in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They later divorced.
Al worked for Ladish Drop Forge Company in Cudahy for 35 years, forging metal into a variety of finished products. In retirement, Al owned and operated Al Huber Lawn Service for many years. He enjoyed building birdhouses, dancing, playing cards, watching cowboy movies, and visiting with his many friends.
He is survived by his life partner, Eileen Korchunoff; three sons, Jack (Carol) Huber, Melvin Huber and Greg Huber; two daughters, Marie (Jerry) Cyborowski and Cynthia (James) Fischer; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one sister; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Loretta Huber; six brothers; three sisters; and the mother of his children, Josephine, on December 12, 2018.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, at 11:00 a.m., at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi, Steve Sattler officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi, and on Thursday at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the services.
