Adeline L. Grahn

Adeline L. Grahn, age 94, of Berlin, formerly of Westfield, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Patriot Place in Berlin.

She was born December 16, 1921 at home in the Town of Springfield, Marquette County, daughter of Avolt and Elsie Wruck Teske. On August 25, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ralph A. Grahn in Westfield. They lived most of their life in Berlin.

Adeline worked over 25 years for Truesdell Fur Company in Berlin, retiring in 1981. After retirement, she moved back to the Town of Springfield and lived near her childhood homestead. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Harrisville and later Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westfield where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Adeline enjoyed going to the Westfield meal site to visit and play cards, but she especially enjoyed and loved her family.

She is survived by her two children, Ronald Grahn (friend Patti) and Patricia (James Gelhar) Grahn; and four grandchildren, Kyle and Kevin Grahn and Heidi and Forest Gelhar. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph, in June of 1977; and her sister, Erma (Harvey) Wagner.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. A memorial visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westfield. A Memorial Service for Adeline will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Westfield, the Rev. Gary H. Schultz officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield East Cemetery.
