Debra J. Dimas

Debra Jean Dimas (nee Duerr) passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born in Milwaukee on August 14, 1958 to Thomas and Beatrice Spielvogel Duerr. Debbie arrived two months early weighing a mere 2lbs 12oz. Debbie has had many struggles in her life. Her first several years were spent in a full body cast with many hospital stays. She was one heck of a fighter who overcame every obstacle in her way.

Debbie lived in Berlin most of her life. She had a very strong bond with her sisters. They were always laughing and participating in all sorts of shenanigans. She loved to sing with her sisters. She had a beautiful voice although she did not think so and was usually called out by the rest of the sisters for lip-syncing. Family was everything to her and she carried that with her throughout her life. Debbie graduated from Berlin High School in 1977. She then went on to receive her degree for Interior Design from Fox Valley Technical College in 1990.

In 1996, Debbie was united in marriage to Javier Dimas. Together they raised Debbie’s children, Jason, Jamie and their grandson DJ, whom she loved with all of her heart. Debbie devoted herself to caring for her family but would never miss an opportunity to go to the casino or play cribbage with Javier and their friends.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Javier; grandson, DJ; children, Jason Lamoreaux (Chelsea Housewright) and Jamie Lamoreaux (Zack Bierman); father, Thomas Duerr; sisters, Dawn (Chris) Bludau, De Anna Lueptow, Laurie Duerr and Brenda (Jim) Dittmer, sister of her heart, Tammi Gaab; brothers-in-law, Jaime Dimas, Joel (Ann) Dimas, Jose Dimas, Michael Dimas and Tony (Michelle) Dimas; sisters-in-law, Evangelina Dimas, Olivia Gilles and her sweet angel, Anna Dimas who always made Debbie smile. Debbie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Duerr; mother-in-law, Lucia Dimas; brothers-in-law, Tim Lueptow, Epi Dimas Jr. and Scott Gaab. During her too short of stay with us, no matter the hardships and challenges, Debbie lived life to the fullest with a smile on her face and she never stopped believing.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, Hwy. 21 Oshkosh. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dean Desilet officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin.

The family would like to thank Debbie’s niece, Sarah Schuster, cousin, Jodi Felcan and friends, Denise Nelson and Ruth Miller for their support, care and constant love for Debbie. The family also thanks Affinity Care Hospice, Jenny Wesner and Bethel Homes.
