Merle D. Davey
Merle D. Davey, age 68, of Berlin, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center Health Care in Oshkosh.
He was born April 3, 1947, in Berlin. Merle was a graduate of Lake Park High School in Medina, IL and Heavy Machine Operator School in Bloomingdale, IL. Merle worked for many construction companies and later worked for Winnebago Co. Highway Department and solid waste facility. He was a member of Local 139 of Operating Engineers. Merle loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his two sons, Gus (Jessica) Davey and John Davey; two grandchildren, Alivia and Rocco; and cousins, Cary (Sue) Weiss, Cozette (Paul) Cismoski, Clay Weiss and Jeff (Renee) Davey; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Dopke; and stepfather, Willard “Bill” Dopke.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, the Rev. Randy Prahl officiating. Interment will be in Eureka Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Monday, May 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel and on Tuesday one hour prior to the services.
