Maxine Brewer

Maxine Brewer, age 101, of the Town of Nepeuskun, died peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Juliette Manor, where she has resided for the past 3 ½ years. Maxine was born September 23, 1911 in Berlin, the daughter of Carl and Alice Garvin Much. She was a 1929 graduate of Berlin High School. On November 9, 1933, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Brewer. Maxine was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Berlin, and was confirmed there 89 years ago. Being active in her church, she was chairperson of the Memorial Committee, a past Sunday School Supt, and member of the Ladies Circle. Maxine was a leader in the Koro-Star 4H for many years. She is survived by two sons; Fred (Nancy) Brewer of Berlin, and Ronald Brewer of Wausau; a daughter, Adell (Carl) Jewell of Redgranite; grandchildren, Mark (Norma) Brewer of Berlin, Laura (Dean) Coehoorn of Rosendale, Douglas (Sally) Brewer of Ripon, Burt (Paula) Brewer of Pickett, and Hope Brewer of Weston, Steve (Linda) Brewer, and Amy Brewer, all of Berlin, Monique (Jeff) Volden of Mt. Horeb, Lois Jewell, Carolee (Vaughn) Brooks, Tom (Dawn) Jewell, all of Redgranite, and Tim (Monica) Jewell of Auburndale; great-grandchildren Kyle (Lindsey) Coehoorn, Holly (Thomas) Dreifuerst, Johnny, Abby, Rachel, and Ryan Brewer, Bryce, Brooke, and Braydon Brewer, and Jorden Brewer-Ukpong; Alicia, Gracie, and Logan Brownlow, Lillian Brewer, Abrah & Annette Volden, Jewel, Carina, Kaitlyn, Esther, Micah, & Sackett Brooks, Marisa & Makenna Jewell, Isabella, Annalise, Charlie, & Molly Jewell; step great-grandchild Connie Wright; great-great-grandchildren Will and Emma Dreifuerst. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence on Aug. 1, 1990; an infant son, and her brother Carl “Bob” Much; and daughter-in-law Donna Brewer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m. from the United Methodist Church in Berlin, the Rev. Aaron Alfred officiating. Interment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel.
