Bertrant Orville Behm

Bertrant Orville Behm, age 91, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

He was born April 18, 1931, in the Township of Bloomfield, Waushara County, the son of Alfred and Irene Tokarski Behm. “Orville”, as he was known, graduated from Weyauwega High School. He served our country in the United States Air Force stationed in France during the Korean Conflict. On October 9, 1954, Orville was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joann May Nehring, at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield.

Orville was a truck driver for 35 years, and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and traveling. They spent warm winters in Arizona and Gulf Shores.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Joann; their five children; Lynn (Kathy) Behm, Denise (Vern) Steffens, Carmen (Becky) Behm, Scott (Chelisa) Behm, Angela (Paul) Gocker; 10 grandchildren, Michael Behm, Sara (Garrett) Knoespel, Paul (Marsha) Behm, Matthew Behm, Garret Behm, Andrew (MacKenzie) Behm, Hannah Behm, Olivia Behm, Samantha (Chris) Hawkinson Dodd and Ryan Hawkinson; eight great-grandchildren, Cody, Trevor, Gavin, Allie, Grant, Aurelia, Siena, and Jackson; two sisters, Bernice MacFarlane and Beverly (Gary) Gensler; and four brothers, Dennis (Millie), Delmar (Joan), Stanley, and Larry (Sherry) Behm. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; other family; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Beatrice Scheller, Betty Behm and Sandra Behm; and two brothers, Alfred Jr., and Roger Behm.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, and also on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin, Rev. Paul Mundinger officiating. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield. Military honors will be performed by Wells-Krause VFW Post #2925 following the service at the church. A memorial has been established.
