Arden A. Alf

Arden Arthur Alf, age 101, of Berlin, died peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Patriot Place in Berlin.

He was born June 29, 1913 in the Township of Seneca, the son of Fredrick and Anna Wiese Alf. On November 26, 1936, he was united in marriage to Luella Wobschall at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn.

Arden was a life-long farmer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn.

He is survived by his daughter, Delores (Arnold) Sumter; three grandchildren, Jill Sharkey, Bruce (Debora) Sumter and Craig Sumter; and two great-granddaughters, Morgan Sumter and Skylar Sharkey; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella, on November 1, 2006; his son, Eugene, on October 7, 2006; and his brothers, Carl, Elmer, and Walter Alf.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn, the Rev. Gregory Sluke officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin.
