Paul J. Weiske

Paul James Weiske died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was 51 years old. Paul was born in Berlin, Wisconsin, on July 16, 1967, to Ken and Marcie Bahr Weiske.

He lived his entire life in Berlin and recently retired from Oshkosh Corporation after working there for 30 years. Paul appreciated the simple things in life and spent most of his free time outdoors. Some of his favorite things were flannel shirts, blue jeans, cutting wood and long country rides in his truck with a chew and a Dew after a Culver’s burger. However, Paul’s biggest passion was found in the woods. He was an avid bow hunter and was known for his loyalty to the traditional way, including his recurve bows and wooden arrows. Anyone who knew Paul knew that his favorite saying was, “It is what it is,” and he said it often. He was a kind and loving son, brother and uncle and will be missed beyond words.

He is survived by his father, Ken Weiske; sisters, Carrie Gerretson and Angie (Steve) Griggel; brother, Marty (Jill) Weiske; nieces and nephews, Andrew Fox, Andy (Anna) Griggel, Adam Griggel, Jenny Griggel, Evan Weiske and Nora Weiske. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcie Weiske, who he missed dearly.

Private family graveside services will be held in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a suicide prevention organization. If you know someone suffering from depression, please reach out and be kind to them. Paul’s absence will forever leave a hole in our hearts. We are looking forward to seeing you and Mom on the other side. We love you, Paul. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin.
