Edith Pence

Edith Pence, age 74, of the Township of Rushford, died peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Brown-Wilcox Home in Berlin.

She was born September 21, 1940 in Carter County, KY, the daughter of James and Ethel Hinton Adkins. On January 28, 1957, she was united in marriage to Alfred Pence in Indiana. After moving to Wisconsin, Edith was employed as a cook at several area restaurants. She was a member of the Eureka United Methodist Church, church choir, and helped at the food pantry. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and most of all, her grandchildren.

Edith is survived by her son, Robert (Becky) Pence; her daughter, Valerie (Tom) Wucherer; grandchildren, Dani Pence, Alan Pence (friend Sabrina), Natalie & Aidan Wucherer, Josh Pence, Jake Pence (Sabrina); great-grandchildren, Gracie Pence, Alex Pence, Abigail Pence, Haley & Dominic Pence; her sister, Doris (James) Pelfrey; and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her close friend, Iris Carley. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred, on Dec. 12, 2012; her son, Thomas Wayne Pence; two brothers, Leon and Michael; and five sisters, Glinda, Ramona, Diane, and two infant twin sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 1:30 p.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church, the Rev. Anita Genrich officiating. Interment will be in Eureka Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends for visitation at the Eureka United Methodist Church on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with lunch being served at noon during the visitation time, followed by the service at 1:30 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at barbolafc@yahoo.com
