Eduviges “Biby” Lastra
Eduviges “Biby” Lastra, age 49, of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 22, 2018, at Froedtert Hospital.
She was born July 15, 1969, in Havana, Cuba, the daughter of Mario Pla and Cecilia Valdez Pla. Biby received her paramedic’s degree in nursing from Miami Dade College. On May 19, 1995 she was united in marriage to Richard Lastra. Biby was a loyal friend, wife, mother and grandmother. She displayed her caring heart for others working as a paramedic.
Biby is survived by her husband, Richard; six children, Meagan Lastra, Joshua Nunez, Eryka Lastra, Vanessa Nunez, Nyza Lastra and Nicole Nunez; 10 grandchildren; her mother; and sister, Maria Pla. She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Graveside Services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Father David Greenfield officiating.
