Arleen S. Klawitter

Arleen Sue Klawitter, age 79, of Berlin, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 6, 2023.

She was born February 25, 1944, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Rex and Grace Burk Arndt. Arleen was a 1962 graduate of Ripon High School. On October 14, 1962, she was united in marriage to James Klawitter at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.

Arleen worked for Smuckers in Ripon as a box maker and drove semi-truck for her husband Jim. She was a member of Borth United Methodist Church. Arleen especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook who would always share her food with others. At holiday time, she would make Halloween and “Secret Santa” bags to distribute at Patriot Place, Juliette Manor and CHN.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Tim) Achterberg, Tammy Domke (fiancé, John Felcan) and Kathy (Jeff) Eastberg; two sons, Tom (Mary) Klawitter and Jerry Klawitter; eleven grandchildren, Jenny (Paul) Struzynski, Daniel (Chelsea) Hertzberg, Cassandra (Brent) Snow, Benjamin Klawitter (special friend, Tara Duket), Rebecca (Gage) Chier, Tabitha (Tony) Featherston, Joshua (Samantha) Eastberg, David (Samantha) Hertzberg, Jill Fink (special friend, Steve Whitburn), Conor Klawitter and Lyle (Megan) Achterberg; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Walter Parsons; three sisters, Ardis Oliver (forever friend, Gary Coats), Anita Kolb and Nancy Hough; three brothers-in-law, Duane “Sonny” Klawitter, Fred (Birdie) Klawitter and Mike Johnson; many nieces, nephews and friends. Arleen was preceded in death by her husband, James, on September 8, 2008; parents; infant grandson, Greg Klawitter; grandson Kevin Klawitter; and three sisters-in-law, Susie Klawitter, Sally (Ted) Michaels and Bonnie Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, pastor Scott Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel, and on Saturday, one hour prior to the services. A memorial has been established.
