Gertrude L. James
Gertrude L. James, age 98, of Berlin, died peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Patriot Place in Berlin.
She was born March 7, 1917, in Waushara County, the daughter of Fredrick and Erna Berglin Thom. On February 2, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert James at Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite.
Gertrude was a stitcher at Truesdell Fur Co., part of the Green Thumb Program and volunteered at Berlin Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Anne James, Jane Ellen (Ronald) English and Joan Helen (Thomas) Mrazek; two grandchildren, Ryan (Angie) Mrazek and Meredith (Josh) LeMoine; two great-grandchildren, Tanner Mrazek and Connor Mrazek, (plus one on the way!); two brothers, Arden (Evelyn) Thom and Lyle Thom; and her sister, Charlotte Abel. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, on May 30, 1956; brother, Ervin Thom; and sister, Ellen Donnan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin, the Rev. Bryan G. Lundquist officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church.
