Arlene L. Gade
Arlene L. Gade, age 97, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Edenbrook in Oshkosh.
She was born July 25, 1925, in the Township of Nepeuskun, the daughter of Walter and Frieda Krueger Neitzke. Arlene changed schools every year for eight years, with Immanuel Lutheran School in Auroraville being the last one. On October 8, 1944, she was united in marriage to Arthur Gade at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville.
Arlene worked for Miles Kimball in the training and fulfillment departments for 25 years and at Copps Bakery for eight years. She gave of her time as a volunteer at Berlin Memorial Hospital, Mercy Medical Center and during the Senior Citizens dinners at church. Arlene especially enjoyed spending time with her family, tending her garden and cooking. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Nadine) Gade; daughter, Linda (James) Bourassa; grandchildren, Chris Kauti, Kathy (Vic) Cornett, Sara (Roy) Bourassa-Dorsett, Amy (Ryan) Glaman; great-grandchildren, Todd (Courtney) Kauti, Samantha Kauti, Murphy Glaman, Lily Glaman, Mitchell Kay, Ava Kay and Tony Davis; great-great-grandchildren, Paislei and Rorie Kauti; and sisters-in-law, Beverly Gade, Delores Gade, Ramona Neitzke and Marion Neitzke; Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, on December 27, 1978; brothers, Ralph (infant); Elmer Neitzke, Harold Neitzke, Hilbert Neitzke, Vernon Neitzke and Gordon Neitzke; and infant sister, Algaina Neitzke.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota Street, Oshkosh. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Jon Radichel-Wills officiating. Interment will be in Ellenwood Cemetery in Oshkosh. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin.
