Lacey M. Chier

Lacey May Chier, age 31, of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 11, 2016 at home.

She was born May 13, 1985, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Thomas Chier and Julie Bieganek Chier. Lacey was a 2003 graduate of Markesan High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Ripon College in 2007 with a double major in Business and Psychology, and was working on her Master’s Degree from UW-Oshkosh.

Lacey was well known as “Mabel” and “Lacey Mabel”. She worked at various jobs, including Heidel House, Thomas Keuler CPA and Plexus. She loved NASCAR (especially #11 Denny Hamlin), swimming, traveling to Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Sweden and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Lacey treasured her two dogs, ‘Shatzee” and “Schmultzee”.

She is survived by her father, Thomas Chier (Penny); mother, Julie Chier (special friend, Shane Hein); aunts and uncles, Mike and Veronica Bieganek, godmother Vicky (Tim) Wuest, Pamela Leahy, Tony Chier, and Kari (Mark) Kuglin-Gurke; cousins, Tilly Bieganek, Deanne (Dean) Bremer, Jason (Teri) Wuest, Michele (Mark) Zacharias, Julie (Jim) Carriveau, Craig Leahy, Amy (Chuck) Dolgner, Eric Chier, Andrea Chier, Morgan Kuglin, Dylan Kuglin and Darian Kuglin; and godmother, Mary Johannes. She is further survived by other family members and friends. Lacey was preceded in death by her brother, Brett Chier on March 7, 2005; grandparents, Russ (Laura) Chier and Richard (Elaine) Bieganek; and uncle, Jeff Chier.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, with a Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m., Father David Greenfield officiating. Lacey was laid to rest in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in a private family service with Father David Greenfield presiding.
