Richard H. Sobralski
Richard H. Sobralski, age 85, of Berlin, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his residence.
He was born February 12, 1940, in Berlin, WI, the son of Andrew and Martha Matuchevski Sobralski. Rich was a 1958 graduate of Berlin High School. On October 1, 1960, he was united in marriage to Julie Bednarek at St. Michael Catholic Church in Berlin. Rich worked for 15 years at Sears and then had a 30-year career at Sand Knit/Ripon Athletic where he did sales and marketing. He was a passionate outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Rich was a member of Mascoutin Country Club in Berlin for many years and also enjoyed golf at Two Oaks in Wautoma.
Rich is survived by his wife of 64 years, Julie; three children, Peter (Sara) Sobralski, Martha (Bob) Thorsen and Paul (Nancy) Sobralski; grandchildren, Andy (Krista) Sobralski, Jacob (Veronica) Sobralski, Luke (Stephanie) Sobralski, Nikki (Bryan) Fletcher, Stacy (Mike) Sayler, Bobby (Hilary) Thorsen, Tom (Ashley) Thorsen, Dani Leigh (Mike) Prado, Molly Sobralski and Joe Sobralski; step-grandson, Ted; great-grandchildren, Harlow-Jude, Aubrey, Ellery, Beckett, Zoe, Bridget, Liam, a new baby girl on the way, Evan, Marshall and Quinn; step-great-grandchildren, David and Freddie; sister, Marion Sonnentag; and brother-in-law, Bud Genereaux. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Andy Sobralski Jr.; and three sisters, Margaret Beck, Delores Piepiorka and Dorothy Genereaux.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, with Monsignor James L. Gunn officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. A memorial has been established.
