Victor L. Hansen
Victor Louis Hansen woke up in heaven on Saturday, June 7, 2025, leaving this world in joy, peace and comfort with 32 family members gathering in person and virtually to express their love and gratitude.
He joins his wife, Marilyn B. Ceman Hansen; first-born baby, Scotty; parents, Theodore and Irene Hemple Hansen, brothers, Vernon and Stanley Hansen; grandchildren, Sakaura Hansen and Shaun Van; and son-in-law, Kevin Stahl.
Victor and Marilyn knew when they married at First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi on August 6, 1955, that they wanted a large family. They were blessed with eight more children: Pam Van, Debbie (Jeff) Elsoffer, Jeff (Mary Kay) Hansen, Shawn (Sara) Hansen, Steve (Jodi) Hansen, Marcia Stahl, Marc (Doris) Hansen and Cynthia “Tammy” Hansen. Tammy has been Vic and Mari’s loving and devoted caregiver for over fifteen years. The family love expanded to include 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way. Vic’s family was the light of his life and all he needed to make life complete.
He is most revered for his unwavering kindness, strong work ethic, and good heart. In today’s terms, he would be best described as “chill.” He was a man happy with the simple things in life. Vic was one of the most genuine and kindest people anyone would ever know. He didn’t need to be loud or flashy, his quiet strength said plenty. He was quietly tenacious, always steady and dependable. Vic loved and supported his family without hesitation. Vic worked hard to provide for all of his family (no small feat with eight kids under one roof). He did it with patience, skill, and a smile that said more than words ever could.
Vic was born, raised, lived and worked on the family farm in Poy Sippi, WI, and that’s where he took his final breath. A 1951 graduate of Berlin High School, Vic always was a farmer at heart. He moved on to building and remodeling homes. He was a skilled carpenter and had a knack for fixing things, a trait passed down to most of his children. Vic enjoyed crafting furniture for the family home and his family. He loved gardening and appreciated nature. Vic loved to fish with Mari and play cards with family and friends. He valued thoughtful conversation over just filling the silence and when he spoke, you listened, because you knew it mattered. Looking back, what his family will remember most is his steady presence, his work-worn hands, and that unmistakable smile that made you feel everything was going to be okay.
God’s honorable and faithful servant, Vic, was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. Before his passing, he was the oldest living member of the church at 92. His strong beliefs, morals and values will be his family legacy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating. Interment will be in Poy Sippi Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi.
