James M. “Jimmy” Boyson Jr.
James Michael “Jimmy” Boyson Jr., age 79, of Tustin, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was born April 13, 1946, in Berlin, WI, the son of James and Agnes Manning Boyson. He served in the U.S. Army. On July 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Catherine Laux.
Jimmy was a volunteer fireman on the Tustin Fire Department and later served as Fire Chief for fourteen years. He worked at Michels Materials for many years and was a man known for his sense of humor and dedication to work. Jimmy loved going deer hunting at his cabin and spending time with family on the pontoon boat. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughters, Joyce (Paul) Jorgensen and Tara (Shannon) McPeak; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) McPeak, Kat (Al) McPeak and Jacklyn (Zach) Jorgensen; one great-grandchild, Novin McPeak; brother; Tom (JoAnn) Boyson; sisters-in-law; Jackie (Rick) Wendt, Nancy ”his 2nd wife” (Bob) Grishaber, Linda (Glenn) Gruett, Suzi (Mike) Rank and Lynn Laux; brother-in-law, Bob Laux; and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Jack and Marjorie Laux; and brothers-in-law, William Laux and Steve Laux. He will be missed and remembered by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi. Memorials may be directed to a Humane Society of your choice.
