Patsy L. Smith, age 72, of Poy Sippi, died Friday, August 19, 2011, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born March 25, 1939 in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Lester “Tiny” and Mildred Wischow Zillges. Pat was a 1957 graduate of Oshkosh High School and Attended Mercy Medical School of Nursing.
She worked as an office clerk for Drs. David Sievers and Jeffrey Carroll,
in affiliation with Berlin Memorial Hospital for many years. On January 4,
1986, she was united in marriage to Melvin “Butch” Smith at Grace
Lutheran Church.
Family was her passion. Pat enjoyed going to all of her grandchildren’s
activities. She and Butch liked to travel in their motor home. Pat was an
avid Green Bay Packer fan. Above all, she touched the lives of many
people, even in death, as she was an organ donor. Pat was a member of
Grace English Lutheran Church, a choir member, a past member of the
church council, and women of the E.L.C.A. as well as other church
activities.
She is survived by her husband, Butch; her children Jeff (Therese)
Kasuboski of Wautoma, Julie (James) Birschbach of Ripon, Scott
(Michelle) Kasuboski of Pine River, Peter (Kristin) Kasuboski of
Winneconne, and Paul (Catie) Kasuboski of Poy Sippi; her step-children
Cathy (John) Hinkfuss of Sturtevant and Debbie (Scott) Staeven of
Appleton; grandchildren Josh, Krista, and Zach Kasuboski, Matt & Michael
Birschbach, Tyler, Brett, and Marcus Kasuboski, Kaitlyn and Nick Kasuboski,
Taylor Scharschmidt, Kate Hinkfuss, and Kenley Staeven; and her brother
Thomas (Linda) Zillges of Oshkosh. She also leaves behind two golden
retrievers, Molly & Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and step-Mother Lucille Zillges.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace
English Lutheran Church in Berlin, the Rev. Rick Engen officiating. Friends
and relatives may call on Monday, August 22, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at
Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the
time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials will be given to the
Acoustic Neuroma Assn.
