Lydia Rasmussen Marshall

     

    Lydia Rasmussen Marshall, age 95, of Berlin, died peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Berlin Memorial Hospital.

     

    She was born October 11, 1916 in the Town of Leon in Waushara County, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Briggs Rasmussen.  Lydia was a 1935 graduate of Redgranite High School.
    On July 25, 1970, she was united in marriage to Aloyse Marshall. 

     

    Lydia was employed at Midwestern Sport Togs for thirty-eight years.  She was a member of the Wells-Krause V.F. W. Post 2925 Auxilliary, and the Berlin United Methodist Church.

     

    Survivors include her son, Gary (Mary Jo) Rasmussen of Fairfax, VA; four grandchildren, Kristen McGee,

    Fairfax, VA, Nick (Maria) Rasmussen, Alexandria, VA, Col. Matthew (Marcia) Rasmussen of Kabul,

    Afghanistan and Woodbridge, VA, and Nathan Rasmussen of Fairfax, VA; four great-grandchildren,

    Katie and Michael McGee of Fairfax, VA, Stephanie Caicedo of Miami, FL, and Annie (Charlie) Kenny

    of Mechanicsville, MD; and two great-great-granddaughters, Julia Kenny Brown and Nora Jane Kenny.

     Lydia is also survived by her sister, Ruth Bohn of Loves Park, IL; sister-in-law, Joyce Rasmussen of Fox

    Lake, WI; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as the Nelson Family.

     

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aloyse; sisters, Margaret Pavletic, Viola

    Zietlow, and Myra Trampf; and a brother, Robert Rasmussen.

     

    Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel, the Rev.

    Aaron Alfred officiating.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.  Friends and relatives may call at the

    funeral chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  Memorials may be directed to the

    Berlin Public Library, 121 W. Park Ave., Berlin, WI 54923.
