John T. Krause, age 80, of Berlin, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Juliette Manor in Berlin, where he has resided for the past four years.
John was born August 25, 1931 in Berlin, the son of John J. and Mary Tomazewski Krause. He was a 1949 graduate of Berlin High School and attended WSU-Oshkosh. On May 27, 1961 he was united in marriage to Leona Louise Kirk at St. Stanislaus in Berlin.
John worked as a young man for Kramp Construction Company as a Heavy Machine Operator. He later worked for several other companies and retired while working for Green Lake County Highway Dept. John enjoyed deer hunting and ice fishing as a young man, and in later years he spent lots of time doing yard work at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Leona; his sister, Mary Arlene Wish of Atlantic Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Ellida Henf of Berlin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Roy Plansky; and brother, Max Krause.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Daniel Viertel officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin. Friends and relatives may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral chapel.
