Ronald Julius Hering, age 77, of Markesan, died peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his residence under the care of Generations Hospice.

Ron was born May 15, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Julius and Theresa Bognar Hering.  Following his graduation from high school, he served his country in the US Army from 1957-1959.  While raising a family, he was owner-operator of an insulation business, and later worked as building and groundskeeper for Aurora Medical Center.  Ron moved to Markesan and has resided there for the past 12 years.

He is survived by his son, Chris Hering of Milwaukee; and daughter Lisa (Steve) Zajc of Wales, WI; four grandchildren, Jacob, Aaron, Lucas, and Sidney; his special companion for the past 13 years, Mary Metzger of Markesan; and her son, Mark (Carrie) Metzger; her sister, Margaret Niederfeld; and grandchildren Maureen and Paul Metzger.

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Randy in 1991.

Per Ron’s wishes, there will be no formal services.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin.
