Merlin "Mully' Erickson, age 85, of Redgranite, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at William S. Middleton Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison.
He was born May 26, 1927 in La Crosse, WI, the son of Louis and Ida Olson Erickson. He attended school in La Crosse. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. Mully worked with his father as an auto mechanic, worked on oil pipelines, and was a wayside attendant. He worked as a logger in Minnesota and Wisconsin for over 40 years.
Mully is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Larry (Mary) Erickson, David Erickson, Mark (Suzan) Erickson, and Debbie (Cliff) Hefti; their mother, Natalie Hanson; his twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ardis (Bill) Naas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Dennis and Dawn; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Wyldewood Baptist Church in
Oshkosh, the Rev. Randall King officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London with
Full Military Honors. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, August 30 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, and also at the church on Friday morning one hour prior to the service.
