Phillip A. Ceman, age 83, of the Town of Berlin, died Monday, January 2, 2011 following an extended illness.
Phil was born July 23, 1928 in Berlin, the son of Leonard and Lillian Nigbor Ceman. He attended St. Michael Cahtolic School in Berlin. Phil enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1943-45. On Sept 28, 1946, he was united in marriage to Marion Fay.
Phil worked at Chapman's, Ripon Foods, Ceman Construction, and Hershberger's. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid painter, and belonged to many area Masonic Fraternities.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; a son Harold (Ruth) Ceman of Omro; 4 grandchildren Nicole, (Dan) Best, Jennifer (Francois) Moret, Mathew Ceman, and April (James) Thompson; 4 great-grandchildren Emily, Jacob, Connor, and Giselle; a brother James (Shirley) Ceman; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel; and four brothers Jack, Harold, Richard and Leonard.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, the Rev. Thomas A. Zuhlke officiating, assisted by Berlin Masonic Lodge & other area Masons. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral chapel from noon until the time of services. Inurnment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
