James R. Werch, age 70, of Berlin, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 25, 2014.
He was born December 29, 1943 in Berlin, the son of Melvin and Lauretta Jacobs Werch. Jim was a 1964 graduate of Berlin High School. On October 12, 1974, he was united in marriage to Karen Storzbach.
Jim worked in the family business at J. P. Luther as a printer for many years. He was a member of
St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin, and was a past Deacon. Jim was an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed
country western shows.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; brother, Gerald (Dorene) Werch; nephews, Andrew, Matthew,
Michael Werch; a niece, Sara Werch; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Linda (David) Petraszak, Judy
(Russell) Abhold, and John (Carol) Storzbach. Jim will also be missed by his cat, Rex. He was
preceded in death by his mother on August 17, 2005 and his father on June 1, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church
in Berlin, the Rev. Bryan G. Lundquist officiating. Interment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery. Friends
and relatives may call on Monday, December 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral
