Rosalind A. “Roz” Smietanski, age 66, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at home in
the Township of Marion.
She was born October 19, 1946 in Berlin, the daughter of John and Joyce Bennett Stemler. She was
a 1965 graduate of Berlin High School. On September 8, 1982, she was united in marriage to Walter
“Wally” Smietanski in Green Lake.
Roz was a homemaker and Horse Pedigree Historian for quarter horses. She was a lifelong member
of both the American Quarter Horse Association and Foundation Quarter Horse Association. She was
an avid Packers fan and Shareholder. Roz was very generous with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Wally; two stepsons, Greg (Kathryn) Smietanski and Ryan
Smietanski; a stepdaughter, Debbie (Greg) Stroudt; one step-grandson, Brandon; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, LeeAnn Smietanski; and her parents.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola
Funeral Chapel of Berlin. Memorials may be directed to Running Angels Horse Rescue with Fox
