Ellen E. Herrell, age 86, of Berlin, died peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Brown-Wilcox

Retirement Home in Berlin.

She was born October 15, 1927 in Milwaukee, the daughter of William and Lydia Benz Jans.

Ellen was an avid baker, a good cook and a homemaker all her life. She grew violets and plants both

inside and outside and loved the outdoors, especially butterflies, animals and trees. When she lived

in Texas, Ellen loved singing in the choir. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin.

She is survived by her children, Wendy (Dave) Taylor, James (Georgi) Herrell and Fawn (Mike)

Lorincz; grandchildren, David Taylor and Travis Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Taylor, Devin

Taylor, Kira Taylor and Madison Taylor. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Herrell in 2004.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in

Berlin, the Rev. Bryan G. Lundquist officiating. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday from 10:00

a.m. until the time of services at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be directed to Green Lake Area
